Glen Garden Golf & Country Club (CLOSED)
2916 Glen Garden Dr
Fort Worth, TX 76119-3298, United States

Glen Garden G&CC closed permanently on December 11, 2014.

This is sad because the club was the childhood course of legendary golfers Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, and Sandra Palmer. The owners sold the property to sell to investors who will raze the course and build a bourbon distillery on the site.

First time I played the course and I think it's a good course. Not really a links course but it does almost play like that. The fairways are wide open and not alot of fairway or greenside bunkers. The final 5 holes include 4 par 3's which is a blast and a good chance to lower your final score.Sad to hear it's closing in November to open a distillery.Play while you can. Byron Nelson and Ben Hogan started on this course.

I actually love this course. Greens are always in good shape.

Holes are almost on top of each other which makes this a very crowded course. Lots of history as this course was where Byron Nelson was a caddie and Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson played against each other when they were teenagers. Price is awesome $33 for 18 holes. Other facilities (like the driving range) are awful.

I am a little biased as I grew up playing GGCC. I sure do miss the old club house.
