Jack Nicklaus' design firm did the original design when the course opened in 1981 and when it was renovated in 2007. Although water and sand are on every hole, the club still advertises the course as being able to accommodate the higher-handicap player.

The course is part of a private, gated, luxury residential community in Stuart, Florida, so visitors are permitted only as guests of a member.
