Seabrook Island Golf Club
3772 Seabrook Island Rd
Johns Island, SC 29455-6024, United States

843.768.2529
Crooked Oaks Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., is a 6,780-yard, par 72 layout that winds through marsh, maritime forests and moss-hung, century old live oaks. The course plays moderate to very difficult depending on the yardage chosen by the golfer.

Ocean Winds Golf Course, designed by Willard C. Byrd, is a 6,765-yard, par-72 course that plays along tidal marshes and natural sand dunes out to the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The course underwent greens renovations in 2004, installing Champion Ultra Dwarf Bermuda grass. It is a private equity facility that is part of Seabrook Island Resort. They apparently have a 'Call For Playing Privileges' guest policy, with head professional Brian Thelan as the course contact.

We have a summer house at Seabrook Island, so I count these as my home courses- though I try to temper my bias. I think this is an excellent Low Country course, providing many of the challenges that make southern courses special- overhanging live oaks, spanish moss, alligator, marsh and water carries. This, and Ocean Winds (the other Seabrook course) are worthwhile courses you've probably never played.

These had been open to Seabrook residents only, but they now offer afternoon tee times to non-residents.
