Folkkston Golf Club was originaly designed in 1954 by Ed Matson. In 2009 a group of golf enthusiasts and investors bought and renovated the course.

The curse has a short front nine that features water hazards on three holes. The back nine plays longer than the front and features many man-made hills which can cause uneven lies. Pecan and cedars trees line the fairways, and numerous sand bunkers have been incorporated into the course design.
