One of the top public courses in Lake County. Course demands a lot of different shots to be played from your bag. Big fairways and Greens provide opportunities to score. If you are up to it, it is a great walk.

This is one of the best public courses you will ever play. its about as difficult a course as you will get. NO weak holes, and at 80 dollars is the best value gold I have played in the US

Upscale priced course not quite a links course and not quite parkland style. A hybrid, somewhere in between. Mostly flat with a little elevation change. Big fairways and big greens. The greens are multi level, with some interesting putting angles.
Agree with rmigolf3, a great place to play once a year, at $90/round in the summer months, it's a not a very good value. I played for $49 w/cart, on fall rates. Don't get me wrong, this is one of the top courses in the Chicago area.

Maintenance - played on aerated greens, so it is tough evaluate, but in good shape in spite of this. Bunkers on all but one hole were in great shape, despite the overnight rain.

Pace of play - was glacial due to a coed group of elderly golfers that never heard of allowing faster groups to play through.

Hospitality - Pro shop staff moved my tee time up prior to my arrival.

Great scenery though out the course. A couple holes were close to the highway however.

No Cart service on this day. Water fountains on only a few holes. Restaurant for dining after your round or a snack at the turn.

Pro shop stocked with mostly apparel, not much equipment.

Carts are electric and no GPS.

Love the course. Some rough spots due to bad summer storms. Really tough from back tees.

This is a great course to play at least once a season. I walked during the twilight rate ($47) and was able to finish in less than 4 hours. The course is designed so that there are no houses or cars to be seen on at least 80% of the holes. The greens have lots of undulations, so if you're not on the right section you'll have a tough putt. Overall, it's a very challenging, but fair course; if you hit put the ball in the right places, you'll be rewarded.
